M. David Moore

David Moore is a retired financial professional, having spent 16 years with SunTrust Banks and nearly 20 years with Wachovia/Wells Fargo. He was a Certified Treasury Professional and a senior treasury sales consultant, covering the Retail & Consumer Products industries over a 20-year period.

David was a co-founder of the International Friendship Center/Centro de Amigos in Highlands and has served as its chairman twice over the past 20 years. He still serves as a volunteer at the Highlands Food Pantry, which is operated by the IFC. He has recently served as Vice President of the Macon County Community Foundation. He is the chairman of the Community Care Clinic/Clinica Comuntario of Highlands-Cashiers. He is the grant writer and chaplain for the Rotary Club of Highlands.

In addition, David is the treasurer of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival. He has served on the advisory board of the Brinson Honors College of Western Carolina University for several years and is a new director of the Western Carolina University Foundation. Previously, David was the founder and chairman of the Lakeview Family Medical Center in Conyers, GA.

David graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama, in Mobile, and was its Fulbright Scholar nominee; he studied Reformation history at the Eberhard-Karls-Universitaet in Tuebingen, Germany, and then studied early modern history at Emory University in Atlanta.
