Jackson County

COVID-19 VACCINES WITH THE JACKSON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

JCDPH is currently scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments for all Groups. Anyone 18 years and older is encouraged to make an appointment today.

To make your appointment, follow these steps:

  1. Visit North Carolina Division of Health and Human Service’s Find a Vaccine Location website.
  2. Search for the Jackson County Health Department Vaccine Clinic by typing in our local zip code, “28779.”
  3. Select “Schedule Now” under the Jackson County Health Department Vaccine Clinic option.
  4. Follow the instructions to schedule your first dose appointment from the list of appointments available.
  5. Know that your second dose appointment will be made for you when you come to your first dose appointment.

JCDPH continues to provide COVID-19 vaccines by appointment only via drive thru clinics at the Jackson County Department on Aging.  Once you arrive at the Jackson County Department on Aging, follow the directional signage.  Remain in your vehicle throughout the entire vaccination process, stopping at various stations to check in, receive your vaccine, and wait for observation.

Macon County

Option 1:

Individuals may access a web link on the right side of the Macon County home page at maconnc.org and complete the form to include their last name, first name and email address. Once this information is submitted, Macon County Public Health will be able to upload the information into the state COVID-19 Vaccination Management System (CVMS). After CVMS receives the submission, an email will be sent to the address provided allowing the individual to complete the registration process and set-up their password. Following confirmation that their registration is complete and their phase confirmed, individuals may call 828-349-2517, Option 2 to schedule their appointment once we begin vaccinating their eligible phase/group.

Option 2:

Individuals may call 828-349-2517, Option 2 and speak with a representative who will get them registered in the state COVID-19 Vaccination Management System (CVMS) after completion of a brief questionnaire. Once the registration has been completed, an appointment will be scheduled. No additional steps are needed.

Option 3:

Individuals may call 828-524-1500 and speak with a representative who will get them registered in the state COVID-19 Vaccination Management System (CVMS) after completion of a brief questionnaire. Once the registration has been completed, an appointment will be scheduled. No additional steps are needed.

Call Centers are operating 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Blue Ridge Health – Highlands Cashiers

Blue Ridge Health – Highlands Cashiers (BRH – HC) is currently testing symptomatic, established patients for COVID-19. Please call 828-482-6160 to speak with BRH – HC staff about receiving a rapid-test if you are an established patient that is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms defined by the CDC HERE.

Macon County Department of Public Health

COVID-19 Testing If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are having symptoms of COVID-19, you can schedule a COVID-19 test with Macon County Public Health. Symptoms of COVID-19 are:

  • Fever or chills
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Soar throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarhea
    If you have any of these symptoms and would like to be tested for COVID-19, please call 828-349-2081 to schedule your appointment.

CVS Minute Clinic
