The Highlands Cashiers Health Foundation (HCHF) has announced the opening of its grant cycle for 2023. The Health Foundation is pleased to provide one grant cycle this year, beginning March 31, with initial inquiries that address one or more of their three strategic priorities: Health, Access to Healthcare, and Behavioral and Mental Health.

“The Foundation is in its fifth year of our mission to improve the health and well-being of Highlands, Cashiers, and our surrounding communities,” said Dr. Barbara Corcoran, Health Foundation Board Chair. “We are excited to continue our commitment to meaningful solutions that address health issues across our communities and make a real difference in people’s lives.”

Grants are at the core of the mission of Highlands Cashiers Health Foundation. Since its inception on February 1, 2019, the Health Foundation has provided over 90 grants that delivered almost $9 million to more than 70 organizations throughout our communities. Recent-funded initiatives include a recreational therapist at the Boys and Girls Club, funding for The Plateau Behavioral Health Collaborative, a Highlands School nurse, and a behavioral health therapist at Blue Ridge Health-Highlands Cashiers. The 2023 grant cycle will continue to fund transformational programs that fit within the mission of lifting health and well-being, together.

“Grants are our most prolific way to impact our community,” said Robin Tindall, Health Foundation CEO and Executive Director. “Our Foundation strives to partner with organizations that demonstrate measurable improvements in our community. One of our key interests this year will be collaborative opportunities to work with like-minded organizations that align programs and projects with shared goals and a common vision to work collectively together.”

The Organizational Inquiry period of the grant cycle will open on March 31 and end on April 28 at 5 pm. Invitations to complete pre and full applications will follow, with grant awards anticipated in October. Additionally, the Health Foundation will be hosting a 2023 Grant Cycle Information Webinar on April 11 at 3:00 p.m. For more information about the full grant process and schedule, to sign up for the 2023 Grant Cycle Information Webinar, or if your organization has an interest in submitting an Organizational Inquiry to start the grant process, please visit the Health Foundation’s grant website at www.hchealthfnd.org/grants/.
